Online store service for a REALLY small business?

onerepublic asked:

Im am interested in selling my hand crafts independently online. Im not looking for an etsy online type service. I was thinking more like my own web page with all the things built for it? Like shopping carts, uploading pictures, descriptions, catagories…etc. Any suggestions?

ProStores.com is a really good way to start. It is owned by eBay too.

This can get costly if you want someone to do it for you.

Why not do a blog (see blogger.com…it’s free) and you can have your products on it. Then sell them on ebay.

Use paypal for the checkout. If you have multiple items you want to sell just use the add to cart buttons instead of the buy now buttons. They allow you to buy and check out with multiple items.

The paypal checkout is free, you only pay paypal the credit card processing fee when someone pays you.

I’d stay away from Pro-Stores - they have a lot of complaints about an “invisible” harge of $640.00 that gets added to your credit card.

GoDaddy is supposed to be good.

Or you can look through the OpenSource options - they have free store software in there, too.

Remember, you’ll have to find a way to drive customers to your store.
